The Lost Soles Collection reflects on life’s journey, taking inspiration from poems, quotes, found objects, places I’ve been and things I’ve seen. The theme ‘Lost Soles,’ makes reference to the people and culture our heritage is built on, the pressures placed on us, and the constraints we endure, each pair tell a different story…
Lost Soles – Hot Boots is a pair of children’s work boots that change colour (purple-green-blue), depending on how the light hits the surface, paired with a thermometer set in a brass cog, they represent the rising challenges of a new generation of workers.
Lost Soles – Gold Rush 2015, comments about the gold rush era, incorporating found objects and mechanical parts, reminiscent of the time, all set with Antique Gold Pigment and resin.
Lost Soles – Changing Gears 2015
A pair of old boots, representing the history of Australia and the roles Australian Citizens played in shaping the nation. Inside the right boot contains three pieces of text that remember the lost soles from past generations. The left boot contains a gear which represent the changing roles people took during their lives.
